BANGKOK, Thurs: Sarawak’s Premier, Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the Future Energy Asia Conference here tomorrow morning.
He will be speaking on Sarawak’s experience in developing renewable sources of energy in an effort in earnest to decarbonise the state’s economy.
The Premier’s entourage flew in to the Thai capital this afternoon and members included the Minister of Utility and Telecommunications, Dato Sri Haji Julaihi Narawi, State Secretary, Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki, Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr. Hazland bin Abang Hipni and Economic Planning Unit Director, Datu Lester Mathew.
The Premier and members of his entourage were received by Bong Yik Jui, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Malaysian Embassy here upon arrival at Don Mueng International Airport.
Soon after arrival at the hotel of residence here, the Premier received a courtesy call by a delegation from PTTEP Ltd., Thailand’s national petroleum company that partner Petronas Carigali in exploration and production in Block SK325 offshore Sarawak.
